right. i'm new to ida plugin and i've written a template plugin to start with. according to information i have on the net ,the plugin should appear in Edit>Plugins menu,but nothing is there.

Did you copy the compiled plugin into your Ida/plugins directory?

Moreover, after checking that the plugin is there, check the message window, as IDA usually points out when there is a problem with plugin loading.

yeh guys it seems my build enviroment is not setup properly. I'm using devC++ and the following are the settings for my project: Project->options: C++ compiler -DWIN32 -D__NT__ -D__IDP__ -v -mrtd Project->options: Linker "path to libgcc.wXX" -Wl --dll -shared Project->options: type Win32 DLL
