I grabbed this book and thought it was well worth the investment.  I didn't even know it was on this site until after I found it in the local bookstore.

Very in depth on the bit composition of assembly commands and how to interpret them.  Comparing differences in the binary representation of variations of the same commmand.

It gives casual information on IDA Pro usage and windbg.  I don't remember too much about softice(I know it's in the title, but still did not notice much on it) but I might have skipped that section if there was one.

He gave a couple examples of breaking minor protections/nag screens in software.

This book is a good beginner book for learning to dissassemble and deadlist programs.
