Forums >>  Debuggers  >>  Requesting help related to game debugging.

Topic created on: November 5, 2010 13:28 CDT by En7quier .

Hello,
I know that creating a topic such as this might be a little bit questionable and probably should be placed in the section with job offers, but I will let the admins decide.

What's the point? We are searching for a skilled RCE programmer(s), who has / have some experience with debugging bigger applications, such as games or actually game mods. Not speaking about some newest large games, something medium or smaller, I would say.

We are looking for somebody, who would be willing to share with us some knowledge about the debugging and if necessary, help us with some parts of it.

I am aware that this is not really an ordinary request and we are willing to offer some financial reward for the actual help with the debugging.

What stated above would make this look like an ordinary job offer, but it's not something that much serious and not for those, who would expect thousands of $ for this small help, because we are just a group of individuals, not some professional company hiring people or offering some long term contracts, just to be clear on that.

Definitely the best would be, if anybody interested, would contact me on MSN or simply send an E-mail at [email protected] (I don't visit this site daily, but I'm available on MSN for most of the day) and we will discuss the budget there.

I do apologize yet again, if I violated any rules related to this forum board, but it simply seemed to me the best place to post this request. Depending on admins, if moving this into a different section or deleting. I just assume that this request - offer might look a little bit ridiculous among the others from Microsoft or Symantec, offering contracts for $60,000 annually for example.

To sum it up. We are looking for a person skilled at debugging, best if he had some experience with debugging some smaller games / game mods and we're willing to pay for this help. Any volunteers, please contact me at [email protected], I'll be glad to hear any proposals.

Best Regards,
71.

First lets get our terms clear.
What you want to do is "reverse engineer".
Although you might use a debugger in in reverse engineering.
The only people that will be debugging the game will be the game developer.
Although, I've tried to fix bugs in others programs before so I could keep them running for long periods of time :-/

Reversing anything can be a long and tedious process.
Depending on what you are talking about from making game hacks (IMHO hopefully not for FPS games), to making bots, etc.
I seriously doubt you fill find any "volunteers" for such as thing..

Now, it's more like cooperate with us on the actual debugging and very briefly guide us through the process. We need to learn, how to locate some particular game functions, in order to be able to port our hack in the game. But I know, this forum isn't designed for this kind of things. So anyway, this was just a try.
