A while ago I managed to brick my trustworthy GPSmap 60CS when I was trying to update its firmware (dont try doing it from within a virtual machine if you can avoid it, unless you have a feeling for adventure ;) ).
It was bad enough that it would not even give any signs of life when trying to turn it on.

So I called Garmin Europe to see how much would it cost to get it repaired... and it was steep enough that I had to Google for a solution for a bit longer... and luckily enough I found a sneaky way of reloading the firmware that actually worked!

Now its back alive!
