Hi all,

I'm looking for a quality DA for linux. I can't seem to find anything.

No offence, but I'm tired of MS and am migrating away from them to a straight *nix environment. All I.ve seen so far is Biew and Disassembler for Linux.0.3.4.

Biew segfaulted once too many, which was once.
The other seems young and only one guy is working on it. I think I might jump in on his project if there is nothing else out there.

Thanks,

so you dont want to pay for IDA linux version , which is alot more than a DA ? take a look at lida and bastard projects . but if you want to get involved in the process of development distorm64 is the way to go

You will probably find something you like in the following CRCETL category:

Maybe objdump? I know it's not as fancy as IDA but it's always something. And you have that in almost every UNIX environment ;)

I recommend you to try radare or HTE.

http://radare.nopcode.org/
http://hte.sourceforge.net/

BTW if you want to comment code and so, the only decent solutions are ida (for linux) and radare.

My understanding is that the console based ida freeware v4.1 (http://www.themel.com/ida.html) runs great under WINE.

The last time I tried, ida pro 4.8/4.9 ran their gui reasonably well under wine but had their problems with the hex display.

Perhaps you could give the newish ida 4.9 freeware version a try.
