iDEFENSE/VeriSign seeks a reverse engineer to help the iDefense Labs Team from our offices in Dulles, Virginia.  

The researcher will work on a team of reverse engineers whose mission is to conduct research efforts that attempt to discover zero-day exploits in common software applications and network services. The researcher will present research findings to customers on a routine basis, to peers at select security conferences and to the press as needed.

REQUIREMENTS
* 5 + years of experience in the Information Systems, Information Security, Reverse Engineering, network or system administration.  
* 1+ years vulnerability discovery research.
* 1+ years experience writing reports and presenting findings to an audience.
* Candidates must be self-starters, quick learners, detail-oriented and should feel comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy, deadline-driven environment.
* Candidates must be open to travel requirements, possess outstanding written and oral communication skills and have the ability to prioritize work.
* Candidates must recognize and deal appropriately with confidential and sensitive information and work and communicate effectively under normal and stressful situations  
* Candidate must have the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.  

REQUIRED SKILL SET
* In-depth knowledge of networking protocols in general and TCP/IP specifically.
* In depth Knowledge of the inner-workings of operating systems in general and UNIX & Microsoft specifically.
* In depth Knowledge of the inner-workings of SQL in general and Oracle, DB2, and mySQL specifically.
* In-depth knowledge of advanced programming concepts in data structures and algorithms.  
* In-depth knowledge of advanced programming languages such, but not limited to, C, Perl, JavaScript, PHP and Python.
* In-depth knowledge of the inner-workings of web servers in general and Apache and IIS specifically.
* In depth Knowledge of the inner-workings of general office application software at the code base level: word processors, spreadsheets, desktop databases, presentation packages, web browsers, chat clients and email clients.

DESIRED SKILL SET
* BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Management or Electrical Engineering.
* Originality and creativity  
* Past speaking experience and publication of independent research.
