Have you seen this:

?

Maybe older than the article, but interesting anyway (checkout pdf slides).

Yes, and if you go to recon.cx you can follow the video archives link to the actual presentation that they did at Recon 2006. It's pretty neat!

i enjoyed the presentation when it published .
now i am curious a bit more about "real" efforts or even projects on Cracking Skype , and the "news" on Chinese Group is the only thing i've got , is that it ?

What do you mean with "cracking skype".
Documenting down the protocol? or producing an unencrypted version of Skype that will run?

arent these two questions the same ? ;)

anything that breaks Skype's close circuit will be a revolutionary step in RCE i believe . it has been slashdoted this week that ebay the owner of Skype been talking to CIA and ebay itself admitted that they met CIA officials regarding to wiretapping issues . does this mean that even CIA and people working for them couldnt handle it themselves ? as far as i understand from US law enforcement stuff usually this is FBI responsible for these things . can i assume that even the edge of RCE , or , lets say people who could hire "anybody" to do "anything" couldnt do such thing silently? or i am missing something here ?

Skype is growing damnfast ! why there isnot a plain english documentation on its protocol and open source clients like everything else ? "because" its protected ? really ?

Well ,
am i the only one who thinks this news storm on Germany Police 's Skype Interception is deeply childish ?

Sending a voice recorder Trojan as an attachment , or maybe via a remotely exploitable vuln to the target machine and proxying the connectback , and finally its document showed up in slashdot , genius .
