have you used it personally?
do you have any comment over it?

Are there any documents which show its significance over other kenel debuggers, say through examples? [As i didnt find any such info in the site]

dont quote if you dont have an absolute need to and in that case quote only relevent parts not the complete post

as to have you used it question

do you realize that you are asking its authour or one of the authours ??

check a few chinese boards like example pediy etc and feed the hits to babelfish or astalavista or googletran
you are likely to gather much more information

yes as to have you used it i have used it a few times right from its inception to the second from latest version

and it has come a long long way from an ever crashing app to be a more stable version that could be of real use

better install an os image in a virtual machine and install this on it and give a try and get a first hand experiance

you should be able to form a better opinion instead of hand me downs

Personally, I am very happy with the way Syser is going. Its fairly stable on 2k/xp (more stable than Softice is anyway ;)), contains plenty of functionality and best of all the learning curve is virtually nill for any old schoolers since it uses mostly the same commands and syntax.

Best of all it works (well!) in VMWare

i'm totally agree syser rocks, and plus it works well with vista. also a side note; softice was working well with vmware too but needed some configuration
vmmouse.present = FALSE
svga.maxFullscreenRefreshTick = 5

Yes, I've used softice in VM, and on 2k and XP and well... it sucked :)

In spite of its poor English and skinned interface (unusual for a program of that type), Syser runs smoother than SoftIce and is more convenient in usage. wuyanfeng, chenjunhao: you guys are doing really great job! On Intel CPUs, Syser goes unnoticed by Skype and you can even have incoming/outgoing voice calls while the debugger is active.

I gave Syser a second try recently, after some bad experiences with older versions.  While it still doesn't have all of the features of SoftICE (e.g. conditional/action breakpoints didn't work, no pagein command, no ctrl-up/down to scroll the disassembly pane, no BPR) it hasn't yet crashed on me, the command-based interface was virtually identical to SoftICE, and the graphical interface was good enough.  Plus it seems like it's well-supported and that the development team takes feature requests.  I will be purchasing Syser soon, and I recommend that all oldschool SoftICE fanatics give the latest version a spin (it has a free trial, even).

Hello,
i've tried Syser dbg some time ago, but i've only BSOD, also submitted the Minidump to the main coder, but nothing changed.

I suggest people to the hardware compatibility with Syser before purchasing it.

Hope "someday" to see also on my PC how it works :)

Regards
