I posted this question to a few of you privately, but I am curious if anyone has seen a debugger for Mac OSX (Intel) besides GDB? As well has anyone else had problems with core dumps on a Mac OSX (Intel) before?
I know it's a sort of dated topic, but it's of interest to me nonetheless. ;)
I don't know of any full blown debuggers(besides GDB) that allow for runtime analysis, but there are GUI's out there for GDB(for instance, the one built into XCode, although that's only useful if you compiled the app with XCode I believe). However, for disassembling and such, I recommend Machonist. Keep in mind that it's disassemblies are flawed sometimes, and this becomes a real pain.
You could build your own GUI to GDB...but then you'd be reinventing the wheel. So what you're looking for hasn't been created yet AFAIK....please feel free to create your own GUI for GDB, or a home grown debugger. I'd love to see more reversing software out there for OS X!
