I like that Black Hat is becoming more stringent with whitepaper requirements. Reviewing slides without any audio/visual gives you only a fraction of the story, a whitepaper will help a lot.
Oh and if you haven't already seen it, Alexander Sotirov's research titled Heap Feng Shui in JavaScript is absolutely brilliant. You can snag his heap manipulation JavaScript library as well.

i've attended to the conference. was a real nice one this time. i have especially enjoyed the VBOOTKIT and the VM based Rootkits speech.
