I noticed from the RECon conference archives that the call for papers in 2005 opened in mid-February, whereas in 2006 it was in early January.  Does anybody know if they're just running late this year, or if there's another explanation?

I've shot a few e-mails over to them with no response as of yet, I hope it will be held again this year.

I got in touch with them, and they said they moved to doing Recon every two years, starting last year. So apparently we won't have Recon until next year.

Don't take it as than last word, I'm just forwarding the info I have, but it sounded quite official. And then, it doesn't mean we can all go to Montreal and enjoy the summer there while we mantain interesting conversations :-)

If true, that's too bad.  With the momentum that reverse engineering has been gaining lately as a legitimate discipline, I'd hope we'd see more conferences devoted to it, not less.  Plus, I had a nice paper to submit :)

Oh well.  Here's hoping that somebody else fills the niche this year.

Just chiming in to say I too was hoping to attend another session of RECon this year. Easily the best content of all the gatherings I attended last year.

I do like Gera's idea though - we should go regardless...

REEBCON :-)

LOL! :)

While gera's idea is a good one in spirit, I'd think that a lot of people would be attending on the good graces of their employers, and would therefore require that an actual conference be going on.

I had a great time at RECon last year, and would highly recommended the conference. It would be disappointing to have to wait another year for the next one.

I have a week off on June, because I was planning to go to Montreal (tourism & ReCon). Probably I can't change my holidays so I will be there.

"Moe, Give me a REEBCon". xD

While on the subject, does anyone knows about a good reverse engineering conference to go this year?
