Job Description
We are looking for a virus researcher to join our global antivirus research team. Your task would be to analyse and track viruses. You would reverse engineer the viruses, analyse how they work, build and ship detection updates for these viruses and write technical descriptions and whitepapers. You would be protecting the people worldwide from malicious software. Job includes handling of virus samples, false alarms, hoax messages etc. Most of the communication with clients is done with email. The job will mix analyst, research and engineering roles.
Prerequisites, Required Skills and Experience
Extensive knowledge of the Windows OS
- Knowledge of the internal system structures and APIs
- Familiarity with common vulnerabilities.
Reverse Engineering Skills
- Good knowledge of Intel assembly language.
- Knowledge of assembly for different architectures (ARM)
- Familiar with disassemblers and debuggers (Softice, Ollydbg, IDA, etc)
Network Skills
-Familiar with common Internet protocols (TCP, IP, SMTP) and attacks.
Other
- Familiarity with Unix is welcomed.
- Experience reverse engineering Unix software is also valued.
- Familiarity with Python would be great
- Willing to develop diverse tools. Unpackers, automation systems.
