Hey i've just started on reverse engineering and i was wondering what debugger should i use, this because from what i've seen in Ollydbg website it doesnt seem to update so soon, most of the recent readings i've found its based on IDA and i just took a look in a book where it talks about immunity debugger that (from what i've read) is a "Copy/Paste" from Ollydbg.

Hi,

I think that's a very personal decision, I have always open Ida and Immunity, but the second just because I got used to its python scripting lenguage. And yes, it's supposed to be an Olly fork.

Ida is a great disassembler and has many debugging choices, but i usually use it just as a disassembler.

Some alpha release of olly v2 was released a few months ago and is quite promising :D

In conclusion, I would recommend you to get used to olly and ida, at least I like to use both :D
