Can IDA recognize VC7 compiler runtime library? The one I used only can recognize VC6 generated exes. Now, the Whidbey has been released for a time, I think it is good if IDA can support VC7 or even Whidbey VC compiler generated exes.

If I'm not mistaken, VC7 is already supported in IDA4.6, maybe earlier. The upcoming IDA5 will support up to VC8: http://www.datarescue.com/idabase/ida50news.pdf

vc8 is partialy supported in IDA4.9

You might honestly want to point IDA relevent questions to http://www.datarescue.com they have a rather solid list of what is supported and what is not. Not to mention, Datarescue is very good about updating their supported list. http://www.datarescue.com/idabase/idasupport.htm Aaron

just added pysym.py to my repository btw. using idapython, debugging tools for ms, and pysym, you can auto-dload and load pdb/dbg's into you disasm. saves a couple of minutes. :)
